Lauren is a Trauma & Addiction Specialist with a Bachelor of Social Work and BA (Hons),  Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma, Diploma of Management, Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work, Cert IV in Training & Assessment, an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and a Certificate IV Trainer (TAE) in AOD. Lauren is also a graduate of NeuroAffective Touch®, Trauma Informed Stabilisation Treatment® model (TIST), trained in Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience® and Quantum Healing Hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Motivational Interviewing.  With a background in yoga teaching, dance and energy work, Lauren draws upon a variety of modalities in her somatic practice. Lauren has also worked closely with the Australian Association of Social Work as the NT Branch President for 2 years.

Lauren has spent most of her career working in primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. She has worked extensively in remote Australia in senior health management, managing remote Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) health workforces for the past 13 years across both the Top End (including Arnhem Land, Tiwi Islands and Groote Eylandt) and Central and Western Deserts of the NT. She has created over 30 ATSI assessment and interventions tools, manuals and videos for remote AOD work, including Australia’s first remote tools for clinical supervision and alcohol and pregnancy. Lauren currently provides consultancy work for drug and alcohol services in Darwin and Alice Springs. Her main focus is now working in somatic nervous system modalities and training other professionals in the use of somatic and sensory-based therapies.

Lauren has presented at dozens of national and intestate conferences throughout Australia and is excited to bring her specialty to the NNSW & SEQ regions. Lauren is an Assistant at Somatic Experiencing International® trainings in Australia.
 
She now resides in the southern Gold Coast and has a client base across Australia in Alice Springs, Darwin, NNSW, Victoria and Queensland and splits her time across the states and the Territory.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys adventure sports, dance, music and the arts, but most of all loves spending time in nature.
